Peter Granados was born in 1989 in Chicago, IL, and grew up throughout northern California. He attended the Yale Summer School of Art at Norfolk in 2010 and received a BFA in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2011. Since moving to New York City in 2012, Granados has made paintings and drawings influenced by the spiritual and esoteric communities of northern California. In particular, Granados has drawn extensive imagery from his own childhood experience of being part of a “fourth way school” with his family in Yuba County, CA.
Peter Granados has mounted solo exhibitions at Page NYC, NY (2017) Sargent's Daughters, NY (2017) and The Journal Gallery, NY (2018). His work has been included in the NADA New York Art Fair with Page NYC and he is a recipient of the 2011-2012 Urban Culture Project Studio Residency, Charlotte Street Foundation. He has also worked as an assistant and collaborator of artist Jacqueline Humphries since 2013.
